We made a short vacation in between Christmas and New Year, spending some days in the Serra da Estrela region. This is the only mountain range in Portugal where one can find snow consistently every Winter. Thousands of us, Portuguese, go there every year just to see and "feel" the snow.
The photo below was taken in the morning of January 1st, 2010. This foggy and snow covered landscape is, to us, as exotic and appealing as a sunny palm tree beach would be to many Northern Europeans...
